I NEED A PSYCHIATRIST!

  Dad says I'm not too bright and if I had an idea in my head it would be lonely.
 Mum says that's not very nice and I'm a lovely boy, I just have some problems, probably going back to my childhood when I had to sing for my supper at the railway station.  I can't remember how long I was living there but I became an adept politician. I discovered how to suck up to the people who were important to my survival so they would feed me.  I had quite a few admirers and the odd kick from the others.  I lived under the parked cars and sometimes I crossed the railway lines but I always came back to the quiet side. 
  Henry Lawson would have written a story about me if he was still alive.
 
  Anyway, I was scrounging around in the rubbish and getting along but it was lonely there and sometimes scary.  A man and a lady tried to put me in a cage and take me home but I was scared of that cage and escaped.  Then Mum and Dad came along and they fed me for a few weeks and then they managed to trap me and took me home.
  They gave me a bath!! took me to the vet and I was wormed, deflead and desexed!! and had a needle for my immunisation and microchipped whatever that is.

  Then Walah!! I turned into a handsome Prince!  The man who first tried to trap me contacted them and said he wanted to adopt me but after a few weeks he said I wasn't happy.  This could be true, he was out at work all day and I was on my own.  I don't think he wanted to pay for me though.

  So Mum and Dad took me back and they said it was all very inconvenient because they were trying to rehome all these other cats but I am such a charmer with people they let me sleep on their bed and gave me very good food to build my health and got attached to me.  I used to bite them and scratch them when they gave me too many pats or they gave me the wrong food.  If they didn't let me go where I wanted I used to do that too.  I was always sorry afterwards when they turfed me out of their way and shook their finger at me and I would look so sad and sorry that Mum would let me back on her lap and talk quietly to me about what I did wrong.  I don't like other cats much, I'm sure they want to get me so I try and get them first.  Mum doesn't like that so now I have to live on my own between the bedroom or the holding cage on the veranda and the loungeroom when no other cats are in there.
  I love sitting on laps, that's my favourite thing.  I'm not much for exercise so when they dangle little mice in front of me I just sigh and say Mum! it isn't real for heavens' sake!  The best exercise  is walking to my food bowl.
  I love being brushed. I didn't used to like this because I think my skin was sensitive but now I can't get enough.  They won't let me outside because I'm very fair and also because there are a couple of cats out there I would love to have a barney with.
  I heard Mum say to Dad that I need a stay at home Mum or Dad to adopt me.  I need to be an only child.  I don't want to leave them because I've grown attached to them but they say I don't get enough attention and I have to be locked in the bedroom on my own too much and it isn't fair to me.  They say a person with some psychiatric skills who wants to put up with my faults would be ideal, but I'm SO much better than I used to be!
  Mum says that a lot of cats are advertised cheaply or even for free.  Why would anybody want to pay $150.00 for me? how can they justify that?  well Mum says if she charged what I really cost it would be way more than that.
  I'm microchipped and lifetime registered and that cost was $65.00 for both.
  The surgery I did not ask for! and the immunisation stacked up with more cost, then there were the antibiotics and the worm medicine and the flea treatment, the vitamins.
  They just won't pay for a psychiatrist!  My name?  They call me Railcorp!  Who do you think needs the counselling?
