Hi my name is Kirsty, I am really hoping to be given the chance for more permanent work within the child care industry. I am hoping to be able to use my skills and knowledge to thrive within a centre in western sydney towards Penrith as an enthusiastic and professional worker.  
 
I believe all children have the right to learn, laugh and grow in a fun and caring environment and I am dedicated to providing that environment. I am also prepared to help all children as much as I can.
 
I believe highly in a team orientated environment that works together to maintain high standards of care, which includes parents, children and all staff members. I have high communication skills and good time management skills. I also have the ability to prioritize my work and use my own initiative. I understand the unpredictability of the child care environment and I have the ability to work under those pressures, with an open minded approach to work.
 
I completed an introductory course in children services back in 2001 and that’s where my interest into the care of children started, more recently I received my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and Child Care First Aid Certificate in January 2009. Since then my work history includes, casual/relief work at 4 child care centres and work experience over the years. With this experience I have been able to work with children from 6 months to 5 years of age, and with class sizes of between 8 - 30 children.
 
These centre’s have ranged from long day care centre’s and preschools allowing me to gain experience in interacting with the children, their parents and staff members. They have also allowed me to enhance my skills and knowledge, in caring for and observing the children, as they play and develop their skills and also the ability to record those observations.
 
I have experience setting up a classroom to provide learning experiences for all areas of development, setting up of beds, preparing meals, also with general cleaning including toilets, floors, tables, and even washing dishes.
