Right now in Australia the market for corporate advisors operating in the sub $10m market is largely under-catered for, yet this is where the majority of corporate transactions are taking place.
The current economic climate represents both challenge and opportunity for many business owners and entrepreneurs. Many businesses are hungry for capital, while others are looking for investors to fund opportune acquisitions. In contrast to popular opinion, investors are happy to invest in businesses at the moment, provided they are sufficiently de-risked and poised to capitalise on the current conditions.
A recent National investor survey conducted by Wholesale Investor, surveyed their database of 4,200 high net worth and sophisticated investors.
The results showed that 71% of investors are optimistic about the Australian economies potential over the next 2 years and another 29% indicating they are “concerned but optimistic”. 0% indicated they were pessimistic. Not so surprisingly, the majority of investors indicated that that the main barrier to deploying funds was not market conditions, but “suitable opportunities”.

An established corporate advisor who can “mentor” you throughout your start-up phase. This is useful when working on unfamiliar transactions and can also be a useful way of leveraging existing networks.
You will be trained to assist companies with their corporate strategy. For the most part this will include assisting a business to become investor ready for the purposes of raising capital. It may also include advising clients on M&A, de-risking, building strategic value and exits.
Due to the consultative nature of the Advisor status, this opportunity is only appropriate for experienced business people or consultants with a track record of success either personally or with companies you have consulted with.
Preference may be awarded to candidates who already operate a professional services business (i.e. accountancy, financial planning firm, consultancy firm, or business coaching practice), or have worked within organisations at a management or advisory level.
