The Rollers, Australia’s men’s national wheelchair basketball team, will begin the defense of their Beijing Olympics gold medal as they play host to the world’s best teams from July 29 – August 1, 2009.
Beijing silver medallist Canada, bronze medallist Great Britain and fifth place finisher Japan will come to Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre to take part in the Rollers World Challenge.
The Rollers World Challenge will open with a rematch of the Gold medal game as Australia takes on Canada on Wednesday, July 29, with the Grand Final match to determine the champion on August 1.
Rarely have so many quality teams converged on one tournament outside of the Olympics or World Championships, so fans are encouraged to come see the best competition wheelchair basketball has to offer.
A day ticket to the Rollers World Challenge (to see two matches in one day) will cost only $10 per adult, $5 per child or $25 per family (two adults and two children). A tournament pass will cost $25 per adult or $10 per child.
Tickets to the Rollers World Challenge can be purchased via www.ticketek.com.au. More information about the Rollers World Challenge tournament is available at www.basketball.net.au or by calling (02) 94697200.
