The bald-headed Australian dude returns, HBO "Def Jam Poet" Ratsack is Atlanta's favorite Australian spoken word performance artist. Raised and respected by some of Atlanta's finest performance artists. Ratsack's dynamic theatrical style wins over audiences of all kinds.
Ratsack is mainstay of underground nightclubs and social circles; he has sold and distributed over 5,000 copies of his debut CD Wordgroove. He has received acclaim and won numerous audience-judged spoken word competitions.
Ratsack has shared the stage with countless underground artists such as Cola Rum, Georgia Me, Jon Goode, Mink, and Aquil; and has performed onstage with celebrities such as India Arie, Floetry, Mos Def, Jamie Fox and Gladys Knight.
Ratsack, born David Mitsak, is an Australian performance artist residing in the USA and was the only Australian to be featured on Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam on HBO. He performed "I'm Losing You" on Season 2, Episode 3 and also "Free the Toes" on Season 5, "I'm Losing You" is a piece about hair loss and "Free The Toes" is a piece about high heel shoes. Between 2000 and 2005 Ratsack was a frequent performer at several venues throughout Atlanta Georgia, especially the Yin Yang Cafe which is now the Apache Cafe in Midtown. Since 2005 he has performed throughout the USA and now right here in Australia. His style combines elements of music, theater, comedy, and spoken word poetry.
An environmental warrior has offered to do a show for his home country so fans and others can see him in person, on stage, thus amazingly support has been provided from the community so we can offer this one off special free show to the public.
This bald-headed Australian dude returns to Sydney for a 2 week visit and due to demand is performing the show" Love Lies: A Seriously Silly Soliloquy" at the Newtown RSL on Saturday 8th August. This one man-one hour show will allow no admittence after show starts at 7.30pm, so be on time.
