Date Listed: 03/09/2008 How about a mid week houseboat adventure (make your own group or come as a group) on the beautiful Hawkesbury River? We depart from Brooklyn, which is an easy train ride from anywhere in Sydney or Newcastle on a Tuesday; I will meet groups at the station (Hawkesbury River station) please only bring what you need for the 3 days – including a sleeping bag and pillows (can be hired). We will be on the river for 3 days and two nights – all meals, soft drinks, tea/coffee, ice & fruit/snacks will be provided – you just need to bring “drinks” for the adventure – there is a large eski or a normal size domestic fridge on board. We will head up Coal and Candle Creek toward Akuna Bay and the spend the night at Yeoman’s bay which is truly spectacular especially if the water falls are running. The next day we will head back up the Hawkesbury toward Berowra and spend the night in a bay with a name like Kulkah, Friendly or Donnybrook. The next day is a leisurely cruise back to Brooklyn and then home. I will also provide fishing rods & bait, there is a dinghy to explore the shoreline plus we will be on the move with different views all day. This is a river system and a houseboat so there is no fear of seasickness. The boat has several out-door deck areas or lounge type accommodation in the cabin. There is a CD, TV and DVD on board. Accommodations are 2 rooms with 4 bunks plus a double bed in the main cabin area or share a twin bunkroom with the skipper this means available to singles, couples or groups. This is truly a unique opportunity to see a spectacular part of the Sydney basin that is only accessible by boat and most people who visit Sydney never see. Also have Sydney and South Coast day trips available.
