Wanted: Volunteering in Sydney

Hey all,

I am from America and in Sydney for a couple months. I am trying to find somewhere where I can volunteer  for something related to humanitarianism or social justice. The problem is, most organized companies need you to be able to help for 1 year, which I cannot do, since I will not be here that long. So, if anyone knows of anything along these lines, that could benefit from a helping hand, please let me know. However, I am not looking for handing out flyers, or getting signatures on the street. I would prefer to do something more direct and hands on. So if anyone needs help, or has any other ideas, please let me know.
