I confess I have haemorrhoids at the moment. The pain wakes me up in the middle of the night. Last night as I was lying in bed awake, staring at the ceiling with a throbbing painful thrombosis below, I was contemplating jumping in my car and driving to the emergency dept at my local hospital.
