Discover your Chakras with our 4-week Meditation Course at Dee Why, Thursday evenings November 12 to December 3, 7-8pm.
We all lead full and busy lives.
So why should we spend time learning and practising meditation?
The answer is that meditation is a very simple life skill that has broad-reaching positive effects: It alleviates stress. It may slow the aging process. It cultivates happiness and inner peace. And it allows us to function at a higher level.
The beautiful thing is that all of these benefits flow naturally and effortlessly from regular meditation.
This course will focus in particular on Chakra meditations. Yoga teaches that chakras are energy centres that exist within the cerebra-spinal system that influence our physical, emotional and spiritual health. Just as different glands and organs within the body serve different purposes, so it is with the various chakras. And just as different foods and specific yoga asanas can specifically improve the health of our glands and organs, so particular meditations can improve the functioning of the chakras – which in turn improves our physical and spiritual well being.
For example, by training our meditative awareness to the heart (anahata) chakra - we can automatically cultivate the qualities of this chakra – such as kindness, compassion and openness.
In this course we will explore - experientially - where the chakras are in the body. We will also practice meditations aimed at harmonising these energy centres.
The founder of Yoga in Daily Life, Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda (Swamiji) has written in depth on the chakras in his book The Hidden Power of Humans: Chakras and Kundalini.
Please join us and bring your openness and curiosity to explore. The course costs $50.
