Up for auction Hitachi 40 tonne Exavator UH171 model. Orange in colour. Year of manafacture 1985.
Exavator is in a running condition. It should be known that although running it is sold in need of minor repairs including exhaust from the manifold back has rusted away. This will need replacing. The fuel tank has been disconnected as it is in need of cleaning out. It currently runs from a 40 litre container.
This exavator would be perfect for scrap metal or log removal as it comes with a bisoli (Hardened steel) grab caple of opening up to 9 foot. This grab in the past has worked well and has lifted up to 11 tonne with little difficulty.
The engine is powered by a 6 cylinder turbo charged Isuzu engine caple of about 240 horse power. Engine is in an ok condition with little problems athough blows a little black smoke on start has not given much trouble. About two years ago the turbo was replaced and has not had trouble since.
Exavator is hydraulic and has two lever operation from the cab. With the two additional levers to control the tracks.
The tracks are a narrow width of a bout 3 metres which allows for easier floating.
It should be known exavator is in an average condition and would require repairs to be used on an every day basis. Alternatively, this could be used for parts and sent to the scrap yard, once more exavator weighs 40 tonne therefore would be quite valuable if was stripped and sold.
