Handcrafted gypsy inspired caravan, the caravan was built by me about 2 years ago and has been my demonstrator as I do many custom projects.
All the appliances were new at time of build. The van is registered to April 2010. Originally the caravan was an 11 foot (approx) York, about a 78 model. It was stripped out and completely rebuilt. Underneath, the chassis has been strengthened and a new oversize axel, springs, brakes, bearings, tyres and shocks fitted. The caravan tows very well and weighs 1000kg tare weight. The outside walls are western red cedar over foil insulation, over aluminium cladding. The roof is wood ply over the same. There is a veggie/herb garden at rear of caravan.
Inside the van is a toilet, shower and basin, fridge, microwave, two burner gas stove and griller with 12Volt range hood above with built in lights. Kitchen sink with mixer tap. Instant hot and cold water to both kitchen and bathroom supplied by 12Volt pressure pump and instant gas hot water heater and a new 80litre water tank underneath. Timber floors inside. Pressed tin ceilings. Embossed Victorian wall paper. There is antique mantel over the bed with hand made lantern lights and a flat screen TV above bed. Plenty of storage under bed and a large cupboard for clothes. There is an antique desk as you enter caravan with a antique bar cabinet and plate rack above for china. There is also an air conditioner.
