Harold (Bishop) seeks new travel companions...
He’s a bloody lovely and amazing campervan and we’re sad to see him go – but as he’s told us on numerous occasions Mr Bishop is “off to bring joy and marvel to other souls across Australia” so we’re taking some comfort in that!
We bought him in July this year, and after doing some work on the old fella (he’s 21 in van years which makes him 77 in human years) the 3 of us set off for a round-trip all over Oz. He has just 90,300km’s on the clock but he had a engine transplant 50,000km’s ago! He’s therefore, as fresh as a daisy.
Inside his belly are 5 legally fitted seat-belts (3 in the front, 2 in the back) and enough room to swing a very large cat – the rear seats fold down in a lovely transformer type motion and turn in to a very, very comfy double bed! He’s just perfect!
He can be plugged in to power supplies anywhere and everywhere – perfect for when you need to charge that laptop, phone or camera and, he also has a pop-top roof which is absolutely quintessential if you’re over 150cm in height!
Harold likes to drink unleaded petrol (his petrol belly will hold just over 30 litres which will give you 300km’s) and LPG (his gas belly will hold about 52 litres which will give you a further 250km’s) This means that Harold is incredibly economical!
He’s a 5-speed manual (column shift) van which is, once you get the hang of it, 100 times better than a normal gear stick. Although he’s “just” a 2-wheel-drive (Harold doesn’t think of himself as “just” anything) he will travel happily and merrily on dirt and corrugated roads but if they’re too bumpy, he’ll let you know! You’ll be able to drive comfortably at anything up to 120km’s per hour. We like to stay at 100km’s per hour purely for fuel consumption purposes and anyhow, Harold say’s ”it’s better to arrive late than to never arrive at all!”
He comes with absolutely everything you’ll need (and more) for any journey of any length...

Sink and water supply (holds loads and loads of water – ideal for long outback trips!)
Gas stove with grill
Fridge and freezer
Internal lights x 3 (main ones plus 2 normal ones)
So much storage space you’ll be able to bring everything you’ll never need to use
Fishing rod holder
Spare tyre
Dual batteries (keep the fridge cold over night without having to plug Harold into a power supply)
Awning (one of the best on the market)
Table (can be used inside Harold and outside the boy by means of extra legs)
Cutlery and crockery (full set of forks, knives, spoons, peelers, cups, and loads more)
Huge pot, medium pot, small pot and 2 frying pans
Gas stove lighter
Inside curtains for shade and privacy
Roo bar
A/C
And here’s what’s been recently added;
New master and slave cylinder on clutch
New stereo system with ipod/auxilary outlet
New rear tyres
New gas cylinder
New fire extinguisher (Harold says safe fun is the best fun)
New spot lights
Steering aligned
Engine replaced 50,000km’s ago
Registered until February 2010

Some other bonuses are;
Hammock
Solar Shower
Fishing rod and hand reels (x2)
Maps
Pegs and clothes rope
10 litre jerry can
Very long plug and wire (about 10-15 metres) for powering up at camp sites
USB Charger for Ipods and, well, anything else that can charge via USB
Any problems?
There’s a slight dent on the offside rear
The drivers door lock is a bit buggered and so, has to be unlocked/locked from the inside (we’ll show you this when you come to view him)
But...

We accidently backed into a tree in Melbourne last week causing a slight dent to the nearside panel - Harold is just finished at the panel beaters and has a brilliant brand new look! He's in absolutely mint condition now and is gleaming! We used our comprehensive insurance on the repairs - that's how well looked after he is!!!!!
Honesty is the best policy as Mr B would say!

So... Harold will be taken for a service prior to sale and will be in tip-top condition for his next set of adventures! Harold turns heads! He’s everything you’ll need in a campervan and so the price ($10,000) is sadly, non-negotiable. We’re not in any great hurry to sell him but Harold is anxious to give more love to his next best friends.
We’ve had an absolutely amazing time with Harold – he’s shown us some fantastic sights and never moaned or groaned at any leg of our 25,000km’s journey. We have had absolutely no problems at all – thanks H. For the whole of 2009 he’s been driven by a very nice and responsible lady (the previous owner) and a response driver in the police force (so Mr Bishop has been very well looked after)
The following pictures are of Harold in real life. He’s as clean as a whistle and always dressed to impress.
Mr Bishop is available for viewing from Saturday 14th November - that's when he'll be finished at the mechanics and had his service done.
